CANCER-CAUSING FILTHY MUNICIPAL WATER

Question

With regards to the Herald report, if we are to believe what is written about faecal matter found in the water, would this affect our wudhu and Salaat?

Answer

As far as possible abstain from the filthy, poisonous, cancer-causing municipal water. As long as the effect of the impurity is not perceived in the water, wudhu will be valid.

Some entity should institute legal action against the municipality for the danger which it has created for the health of the citizens with the cancer-causing water.
