Qur’baani of cows less than two years

Q. Some people make qur’baani of cows less than two years. Is the qur’baani valid? If sheep with tails are not available for Qur’baani, will it be permissible to sacrifice sheep without tails? Farmers cut off the tails to prevent disease.

A. Regardless of the disease and scarcity of valid animals, it is not permissible to make qur’baani of a cow which is less than two years. The qur’baani will not be valid. If you are unable to acquire a sheep with tail, sacrifice a goat.
